The Department of Physical Education organized an Inter-Class Chess Tournament on September 26, 2025, in Room No. 07 for interested students. This program was inaugurated by our Principal, Dr. Premalatha V. Physical Education Directors, Mr. Avinash and Mr. Karthik coordinated among the students. The competition aimed to promote strategic thinking, concentration, and sportsmanship among students. The tournament provided a valuable platform for students to showcase their chess abilities and encouraged healthy competition. All participants demonstrated commendable enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
In Men category received an enthusiastic response with 40 participants representing various classes. The matches were played in a knockout format and witnessed intense competition. Mr. Dhyan of I BCom C was the winner, and Mr. Keerthan Akshay of III BCA D was the runner-up. In the Women’s category, we saw participation from 5 students who displayed remarkable focus and tactical skills throughout the event. Ms. Apeksha of III BCA C was the winner of the tournament, and Ms. Ashwetha of III BSc won the title of runner-up. The Inter-class tournament was a resounding success, achieving its goal of promoting a culture of strategic thinking and healthy competition. Students participated enthusiastically in this tournament.
- Students improved their ability to plan, analyse situations, and make logical decisions, and also improved concentration and patience.
