The library extension activity for specially-abled children is a special initiative designed to promote inclusivity, literacy, and lifelong learning among special children of Chetana Child Development Centre. The program aims to bring the library experience closer to these children by creating a welcoming and accessible environment where they can explore books, stories, and creative activities without barriers.
The Library and Information Centre of Canara college conducted an extension activity titled “Chinnara Chilipili” at Chetana Child Development Centre, V.T. Road, Mangaluru, on October 31, 2025. A total of 16 students actively participated in the activity. The program commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome address that greeted all the attendees and set the tone for the day’s activities. The session included storytelling, interactive games, dance and drawing activities etc., designed to engage and inspire the children. Students from the college assisted in conducting the activities, ensuring that every child was included and enjoyed the experience.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the staff of Chetana Child Development Centre, the participating students, and the organizers for their support in making the event meaningful and memorable.
