Graduation Day is a joyous and meaningful experience that honors academic achievement, personal growth, and the start of a new chapter in life.
To make it more significant and also to celebrate the progression and advancement of the graduating students, the Institute’s Graduation Day Ceremony of the Graduates from the Batch of 2021-24 was celebrated with grandeur on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Sri T V Raman Pai Convention Centre Kodialbail, Mangaluru. Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Moodithaya, Vice Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University) was the Chief Guest for this special day.
The Guest and Dignitaries were adorned with the Sashes. The ceremony then marked its beginning with the academic procession having the Dignitaries viz., ushered by the Coordinator of Examinations Mrs. Usha Nayak, Mrs. Anasuya Bhagvath and Mrs. Prathima V Baliga, IQAC Coordinators and Conveners, The Heads of Academic Programmes – Dr. Asha Kiran Pakkala, Mrs. Dejamma A, Mrs. Jayabharathi K. P, Mrs. Babitha S, Mrs. Seema Prabhu S and Mrs. Swathi Nayak, The Administrator Dr. Deepti Nayak, The Principal Dr. Premalatha V., The Members of the Governing Board of Management in attendance – Sri B. Purushottham Shenoy , Sri Vikram Pai, Sri CA M. Vaman Kamath, The Correspondent Sri CA M. Jagannath Kamath, The Manager Sri K. Shivananda Shenoy, The Chief Guest of the day Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Moodithaya, Vice Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), and the President of the Programme Sri. K. Suresh Kamath, the Vice President of Canara High School Association, Mangaluru.
The dignitaries then graced the dais. The Prayer Team invoked the blessings of the Almighty with the College Prayer. This was followed by the very meaningful and symbolic task of lighting the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and other Dignitaries on the dais. The President of the program Sri. K. Suresh Kamath then declared the Graduation Day open.
The Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Moodithaya. in his Graduation Day address said –“ Success begins with the mind. Think right — for thoughts shape words, words shape actions, actions form habits, habits build character, and character defines destiny. In the 21st century, illiteracy is no longer about the inability to read or write, but about the inability to learn, unlearn, and relearn. Remember, small is beautiful. Let every failure be a stepping stone to success. And above all, be your own greatest motivator — don’t wait for one to find you.”
Sri. CA M. Vaman Kamath, Correspondent of Canara Evening College, delivered an inspiring message to the graduates.He said “Academic knowledge alone cannot bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. It is through thoughtful planning and unwavering commitment that one can transform potential into purpose and shape a promising future.”
The President of the Programme Sri. Suresh Kamath, Vice President of CHS Association, during his presidential remarks, expressed his happiness at being part of the solemn occasion. He emphasized, “Canara has nurtured many luminaries who excelled by striking a balance between physical and mental well-being. Good nutrition, regular exercise, and meditation are simple yet powerful keys to a successful and fulfilling life.”
The Heads of respective Academic Programmes presented the Graduates before the Principal for the conferment of the degrees. Mrs. Jayabharathi K. P. presented the rank holders. Dr. Asha Kiran Pakkala presented the Graduates of B.Sc. Programme,. Mrs. Babitha S presented the Graduates of B.C.A. Programme and Mrs. Dejamma A presented the Graduates of B.Com., Mrs. Seema Prabhu S presented the Graduates of B.B.A. Programme and Mrs. Swathi Nayak presented the Graduates of M.Com .The Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Moodithaya, Vice Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), along with other Members of the Governing Board of Management, the Principal and the Administrator presented the Convocation Degree Certificates to the Graduates .
The Principal Dr. Premalatha V. then conferred the degrees upon the Graduates and administered the Graduation Pledge to the Graduates wherein they affirmed to faithfully adhere to the ideals of their Alma mater; promising to work for a better world, pledging to use their knowledge for the well-being of the community in a socially responsible ways; thereby imbibing the Institutional Panchasheela Core Values and the motto Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara to ever be the guiding principle of their life.
A total of 264 graduates from different programmes including those in absentia were conferred with their degrees and presented their convocation degree certificates.
Ms.Shri Raksha from B.Sc. Programme, Ms. Vaishnavi Kamath from B.C.A. Programme, Ms. Stithi J Shetty from B.Com. Programme, Ms. Ankitha from B.B.A. Programme and Preethi B. Shenoy from M.Com shared their nostalgic memories with the institution and also expressed gratitude towards their Alma mater. With grateful hearts they thanked the management and the teachers for extending their all-time support and positive mentoring.
Principal Dr. Premalatha V, welcomed the Dignitaries and the gathering. The IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Prathima V Baliga introduced the Guest to the gathering. The IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Anasuya Bhagvath proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Megha, Faculty, anchored the ceremony.
At the culmination of the ceremonial proceedings, the President of the programme Sri M. Suresh Kamath, Vice President, Canara High School Association, Mangaluru dissolved the Graduation Day. The ceremony concluded with respectfully singing the National Anthem. This was followed by the recessional march.
The students then had a class-wise photo session capturing their memories on camera, along with their teachers and fellow mates sharing the dais one last time. The day ended with big smiles on the faces of the new graduates. It was truly a memorable day to remember and cherish. All then joined for the fellowship lunch.
Graduation Day culminated in a multitude of outcomes, each one a testament to the significance of this momentous occasion. It brought a profound sense of accomplishment and pride to graduates, their families, and faculty, acknowledging the hard work and academic achievements of the graduating class. This ceremonial milestone marked a pivotal transition from student to alumni, inspiring and motivating graduates to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in the world. The bonds between graduates, faculty, and the institution are strengthened, as a sense of closure and completion of a significant chapter in life is celebrated. New beginnings and opportunities unfolded for graduates, as they embark on their careers or further education, forging a network of connections and relationships established during the graduation ceremony. This memorable experience was cherished by graduates, families, and friends, serving as a celebration of the institution’s mission and values, reinforcing its commitment to education and student success.
The event endeavors to promote the core values of instilling a value system and eliciting quest for excellence among the graduates.
