The Constitution of India is the foundation of our nation, establishing values such as equality, justice, and liberty. It empowers every citizen to contribute to the country’s progress. By educating young minds about their fundamental rights and responsibilities, we help them uphold democratic principles and work towards reducing social inequalities.
To raise awareness and interest among students, the Equal Opportunity Cell of our college organized a seminar titled “Youth and Constitution: Empowering the Next Generation for Equality.” The guest speaker, Mrs. Gayatri B.K., Head of the Department of Political Science at St. Agnes Autonomous College, Mangalore, delivered a thought-provoking lecture. She emphasized the important role of youth in protecting constitutional values, promoting inclusivity, and advocating for social justice. Her session inspired students to actively participate in creating an equitable and democratic society.
The seminar was interactive, with students actively engaging in the discussion. The speaker made the session even more interesting by sharing real-life examples. The seminar also included a session on case studies, which helped participants understand how constitutional principles apply in real-world situations.
A total of 74 students from II B.Com. attended the program. Ms. Deeksha of II B.Com. welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Seema Kawar of II B.Com. introduced the guest. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Megha of II B.Com., while Ms. Nagashree Nayak of II B.Com. compered the event. The convenors of the Equal Opportunity Cell, Mrs. Savitha D.K. and Mrs. Poornima, were present throughout the program.
