Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council Inauguration and Aavishkar Talent Expo 2024- Fine Arts Inauguration

The inauguration of ‘Can Cabinet’- Student Welfare Council and ‘Avishkar’ talent expo 2024 – Fine Arts was held on September 14, 2024, at T.V Raman Pai Convention Centre, gathering students, faculty, and dignitaries for a significant event. The program began with a welcome by Mr. Aryaman Prabhu, President, Can Cabinet. Mrs. Babitha S, Student Welfare Mentor, introduced the chief guest to the gathering.

The chief guest, Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada constituency, delivered an inspiring keynote address. He highlighted the importance of youth engagement and introspection. “Occasions like these provide an opportunity to reflect, understand, and stay connected with the youth. I always make it a point to be among students, as they are the future of this nation,” he remarked. He encouraged students to actively contribute solutions to the world’s challenges and to take their education and roles seriously as future leaders.

Mrs. Smitha M., Student Welfare Mentor, administered the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected cabinet office bearers.

Mr. Ranganath Bhat, Honorary Secretary, CHS Association, delivered the presidential address. He started by acknowledging the leadership qualities of those involved, stating, “A leader’s job is to care for those under him or alongside him.” He emphasized the responsibility of students to shape the nation’s future and highlighted two important points: being fully present and focused in their studies and striving to become the type of candidates that industries seek out. “Don’t just study to pass exams; study to be the preferred candidate for companies. Make them want to hire you,” he advised, encouraging students to aim for more than just academic success.

The event also celebrated the achievements of alumni students Ms. Megha Shetty and CA Ashwath, who were felicitated for their outstanding accomplishments, serving as inspiration for their peers. The dignitaries on stage included Sri K. Shivananda Shenoy, Manager, Canara College; Dr. Deepthi Nayak, Administrator, Canara College; Student Welfare Mentors, Mrs. Babitha S., Mrs. Smitha M., Mr. Avinash, the Convenor of the Fine Arts Association, Mrs.Vani U.S, the principal, Dr. Premalatha V., and the Correspondent of Canara College, CA M. Jagannath Kamath, shared their congratulatory messages, expressing optimism for the upcoming academic year.

Can-Cabinet Student Welfare office bearers Mr. Aryaman Prabhu, President; Ms. Sinchana Shetty, Vice President; Mr. M. Trivikram Shenoy, Secretary; Ms. Raksha, Joint Secretaries; and Mr. Narasimha Shenoy, Secretary of the Fine Arts Association, were also present.

The formal inauguration was followed by Avishkar 2024, a Talent Expo, where first-year students showcased their creative talents, marking a promising start to the academic year. Mr. Narasimha Shenoy concluded the event with a vote of thanks, appreciating everyone’s contributions to the success of the program.
