The Department of Computer Science & Applications, in collaboration with the IT Association, successfully organized an enlightening session on “Domains in AI” on April 24, 2025. Tailored specifically for First Year BCA students and IT Association members, the event aimed to provide a foundational understanding of the diverse and rapidly advancing field of Artificial Intelligence.
The session was led by Mr. Shaan Magral — a seasoned Data Scientist, AI Enthusiast, and Marketing Head at ARENA Animation, Mangaluru. Known for his unique blend of technical expertise and creative insight, Mr. Magral delivered an engaging presentation covering key domains in AI such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Robotics, and AI in Marketing.
The event began with a soulful prayer by Supreetha and Rashmi of I BCA B, setting a positive tone for the session. This was followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Kshama of I BCA A, who introduced the importance of the event. Srivalli of I BCA A took on the role of the Master of Ceremony (MC), smoothly guiding the flow of the session.
Mr. Magral commenced his talk by highlighting the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence in the modern digital landscape. He then delved into each domain, illustrating their real-world applications, potential career paths, and emerging opportunities. His insights were both informative and inspiring, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among the attendees.
The session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 80 students, who actively engaged by asking insightful questions and expressing interest in AI-related projects. Mr. Magral further enriched the session by sharing practical tips and resource recommendations to help beginners kickstart their journey in AI.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Aadhya A Sooda of I BCA B, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Magral for his valuable contribution and appreciated the keen involvement of the students.
