An educational initiative was organized by the students of IT Association, who conducted an Extension Activity on “Social Media Awareness and Cyber Security” on January 31, 2026, at D.K.Z.P. Government Higher Primary School.
The programme commenced with a welcome speech delivered by Jeevitha (II BCA ‘C’). Yashaswi (II BCA ‘B’) introduced the concepts of social media and cyber security, emphasizing responsible online behaviour. Chethan (II BCA ‘A’) explained the misuse and risks associated with social media platforms, while Priyanka (II BCA ‘C’) addressed the effects of social media on mental health. Further awareness of cyber security threats was created through an informative presentation by Yashaswini (II BCA ‘A’).
To make the session more engaging, a fun activity related to social media awareness was conducted, which encouraged active participation among the students. The charts and PowerPoint presentations were prepared by Kartik (II BCA ‘A’) and Disha (II BCA ‘B’).
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Thanish (II BCA ‘A’). The extension activity was informative, interactive, and well received by the students. A total of 7 students actively participated in conducting the programme.
- Students gained awareness about social media risks, cyber security threats, and responsible online behaviour.
