Under the initiative of the IQAC, the Departments of Kannada, Hindi, and Sanskrit, along with Tulu Sanga and Konkani Association, jointly organised the Bharathiya Bhaasha Dinaacharane (Celebration of Indian Languages Day) on December 10, 2025 at Canara College.
The multilingual writer Mrs. Akshatha Raj Perla was the Resource Person for the programme. She highlighted the importance of learning multiple languages, the role of literature in strengthening language skills, and the value of translation practice.The programme was presided over by Prof. Dejamma, Head, Department of Commerce, who emphasised the natural multilingual ability of Indian students and the role of technology in language preservation. Faculty members Mrs. Shailaja Pudukoli, Mrs. Sujatha G. Nayak, Mrs. Chethana Gadiyar, Ms. Maneesha D., and Mrs. Namitha were present.
Mrs. Shailaja Pudukoli from the Department of Kannada provided an overview of the programme. The formal programme included an invocation by Ms. Aditi, welcome by Mr. Ajay, introduction of guests by Ms. Vaishnavi, MC by Ms. Meghana, and vote of thanks by Ms. Shreya Kamath. Students presented Sanskrit shloka chanting, Kannada ranga sangeetha, Konkani bhajans, Hindi patriotic songs, and Tulu paardaanas, showcasing the linguistic diversity of India.78 students from various streams participated in the program.The activity fostered global competencies and inculcated a value system among students.
