October 29, 2025

The Fine Arts Association of Canara College organised a training session on Devotional Song by Ms Ananya N. K., II B.Com ‘A’ and a Dance Fusion Session by Ms Sanidhya S. Shetty, II B.Com ‘A’ and S. Pooja, II B.Com ‘B’ on October 29, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. in Room No. 26 & 27. This session was likely aimed at nurturing students’ creative talents and promoting cultural engagement within the college.

Ms Ananya N. K. guided attendees through the nuances of devotional singing, emphasising lyrical expression, melodic structure, and spiritual depth. Participants practised renditions of popular bhajans and learned techniques to convey devotion through voice modulation.

Ms Sanidhya S. Shetty and Ms. S. Pooja introduced a dynamic blend of classical dance elements with modern rhythms. The session covered rhythmic coordination, expressive gestures (mudras), and creative choreography that synchronised with the devotional songs practised earlier. 58 Students actively participated in this session. The training session successfully met its objectives of nurturing artistic talent and promoting cultural engagement. By integrating devotional song with dance fusion, the program offered a fresh, holistic approach to artistic expression, leaving participants inspired and eager for further creative exploration. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Usha Nayak, Convener of the Fine Arts Association, with assistance from members of the association.
