The Consumer Forum of the College organized the Inauguration of the Certificate Course on Consumer Awareness on 29th August 2025. The program was graced by Sri Abhishek S. Ullal, an Alumnus, Advocate, Education Activist, and Social Worker from Mangaluru, who served as the Chief Guest and Inaugurator of the event.
In his inaugural address, Sri Ullal highlighted the importance of having a Consumer Forum in the college and its role in creating awareness among students. He elaborated on Consumer Rights and provided valuable insights into the functioning of Consumer Forums at the District, State, and National levels. He also explained in detail the procedure for filing complaints in consumer forums, thereby giving the participants practical knowledge on seeking redressal. The session was interactive, as students actively engaged with the Chief Guest and clarified their doubts regarding problems faced by consumers.
The presence of the IQAC Coordinator, Mrs Anasuya Baghvath, added significance to the occasion. A total of 43 students actively participated in the program, making the event a successful beginning to the certificate course. The activity was well coordinated by Mrs. Lavina N., Convener of the Consumer Forum, and student coordinators Ms. Megha R. and Ms. Apeksha.
- Students gained a clear understanding of consumer rights and the importance of consumer forums at different levels.
- Students learned the step-by-step procedure for filing consumer complaints and seeking redressal.
- Students actively interacted with the Chief Guest, clarified their doubts, and developed confidence in addressing consumer-related issues.
The event strived to achieve the core values of Contribution to National Development and Inculcating Value System amongst all.
