The Nature Club and Science Association, in association with the B.Sc. Programme, organized a “Mosquito Eradication Awareness Program” on August 20, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Smt. Ratna S. Shenoy Memorial Seminar Hall, in observance of World Mosquito Day.
The resource person for the event was Mr. Ganesh, Health Inspecting Officer, Health Department, Mangaluru. He highlighted the importance of mosquito control, preventive measures against vector-borne diseases, and the role of community participation in eradicating mosquito breeding sites.
In addition, four members from the City Corporation were present and actively participated in the awareness session, enriching the discussion with practical insights and local initiatives.
A total of 87 students attended and benefited from this program and received positive feedback from other attendees.
The session proved to be highly informative, enhancing awareness about public health and preventive measures against mosquito-borne diseases.
Ms. Rithika V, and Ms. Srinidhi R. Shetty, students of III B.Sc., rendered the prayer. Ms. Janisha of III B.Sc., and Secretary of the Science Association welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person. Mr. Gagan of III B.Sc., proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Chetan Yellappa Hadagal of II B.Sc,, and Secretary of the Nature Club was the master of the ceremony.
