The Department of English organized two literary competitions as part of the College Day celebrations on March 12 and 13, 2025 in Room No. 9. The events included an Elocution Competition and an Essay Writing Competition.
The Elocution Competition focused on the topic “The Influence of Celebrities on Youth” and saw the participation of four students. The competition encouraged students to critically analyze how celebrities impact young minds, their lifestyle choices, and their values. Vedanth from III BBA secured the first place with an impressive speech that highlighted both the positive and negative effects of celebrity influence.
The Essay Writing Competition was held on the topic “Benefits and Risks of Artificial Intelligence” and had five participants. The competition aimed to assess students’ understanding of AI’s impact on society, including advancements and ethical concerns. The winners of the competition were,1st Place taken by Shreya R Prabhu (I BCA C), and 2nd Place taken by Aisiri Aithal (I BBA).
