On account of Chaturmaasa, Department of Sanskrit and Sanskrit Association jointly organized “Cankritham”, a seminar and an intercollegiate PU and UG-level competition on the topic “Purana and Ithihasa” on July 08, 2023 in the College Seminar Hall from 9:30am to4:00pm.
Sri Kuthpadi Krishnaraj Achar was the Resource Person for the seminar. He spoke about Vedas, Puranas and in detail about the number of Yugas, Kalpas and Manvantharas. Sri CA M. Vaman Kamath in his presidential address urged the students to develop interest in Sanskrit language and literature. Mr. Girish Nayak of II B.com B shared the purpose of the program with the gathering. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal of our college and Dr. Deepthi Nayak, Administrator of our college graced the program.
Post-lunch various inter-collegiate PU and UG competitions were conducted viz, essay, elocution, analysis of shloka and quiz. Cash prizes and certificates were given to the winners. Judges for the competitions were Dr. Vasumathi Bhat from MGM College, Mr. Janardan Bhat from Karnataka Ayurveda College.
