Training on Rovers and Rangers Principles, Advantages and Salute

August 28, 2019

Training on “Saluting in Rovers and Rangers” was held on August 28, 2019 in Room.No.15 at 3.15pm.  Mrs. Dhanyashree, Ranger Leader conducted this talk. Altogether six students participated.

The three finger salute is used by members of Scout and Guide organizations around the world when greeting other Scouts and in respect of a national flag at ceremonies. Saluting is commonly used in Rovers and Rangers to show respect, when members meet each other for the first time in a day. In most situations, the salute is made with the right hand, palm face out, the thumb holding down the little finger and with the fingertips on the brow of the head.

The left handed handshake is a formal way of greeting other members of both the genders in scout and guide movement. The handshake is made with the hand nearest to the heart and is offered as a token of friendship.

Mrs.Dhanyashree explained the above mentioned basics of saluting and handshake. She also demonstrated saluting and handshake by taking a right posture. In the concluding part students were made to practice three finger salute and left handshake.
