Menstrual Hygiene Programme -Swaccha Gelathi

Canara College NSS units, in association with Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath, organized a Swaccha Gelathi “Menstrual Hygiene” programme to train NSS volunteers from various colleges on July 5 and 6, 2018. The programme aimed at creating awareness about menstrual hygiene among school girls in the Dakshina Kannada district.
Smt. Manjula, Co-ordinator,Swaccha Bharath Mission D K district, inaugurated the programme. Principal Dr. Malini K V. presided over the programme. Dr. Poornima Bhat, Gynaecologist, Mulki, was the resource person. Prof. Vidhya explained the sociological aspects and the myths associated with menstruation.
On July 5, nearly 100 students from various colleges around the city, including 30 students from our college, participated in this training programme. On July 6, 100 girls from different colleges were trained by the Zilla Panchayath. 70 NSS volunteers from our college actively participated in the programme.
