Of all the traits, inquisitive nature alone paves way for scientific discoveries. To unleash the potential of the student and to discover themselves , our college organized a national level science-IT fest “SCIENTICA – 2017” Jan 9 & 10, 2017 with the theme “Imagine-Invent-Inspire”.
This was a best platform for the participants to subjugate the hesitation, to test their knowledge and to standout as an icon of excellence.
Scientica – 2017 was inaugurated on January 9, 2017 by the chief guest Dr.Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal Sahyadri Engineering college.
Sri.CA SS Kamath, President, Canara High School Association presided over the function.
Sri.M.RanganathBhat, Honorary Secretary, Canara High School Association, Sri.MaroorSudhirPai, Correspondent, Canara College, BastiPurushothamShenoy,Governing Council member, Sri.VamanKamath Alternate Treasurer of CHS Association ,Dr.K.V.Malini, Principal graced the occasion.
A total of 15 colleges, 163 students participated in the fest. There were altogether 6 Science events they were Best Personality, Talent potent, Treasure Hunt, Quiz, ZOBO and Ice breaker and 5 IT events they were News bulletin, Toggle talk, Gaming, Coding, Web designing and Photography.Participants took part in all the events with great enthusiasm .
The valedictory programme was held on Jan 10 2017 at 5.30 p.m. Dr JayaprakashRao Director AJ Institute of Management was the Chief Guest. Dr KV Malini Principal , Sri Ignatius Navil Noronha, MrsPremalatha Student Welfare Officers, DrBhuvanaRamachandran Staff Coordinator graced the function
All the participants appreciated the hospitality, Creativity and the quality of the events.
On the whole the 2 day National level Science-IT fest ‘SCIENTICA – 2017’ was a grand success and fruitful due to the hard work and dedication of Student ConvenorsShravya S. Bangera, Suraj Kumar S. and Shafiqa under the guidance of staff convenorsProf.Sandhya B., Prof. ShaliajaKumari, Prof.VijethaBhat and Mrs.Vidhya S.
All the B.Sc and BCA students and alumni cooperated to make this fest a grand success.
Scientica- 2017 inspired the young students to science-related fields for future career aspirations
It developed the interest and curiosity about new areas of scientific knowledge within a socially stimulating and enjoyable setting.
