Skill Development Workshop for Students

“The workshop is highly beneficial for all the students to develop their language skills. Therefore, it is highly appreciable to see the number of students participating in this.” Said Mrs.Gayatri Acharya, as the guest of honour at the inauguration of ‘Skill development’ workshop conducted on September 12, 2015 in Canara College. Dr. K.V. Malini, Principal of Canara College encouraged the students by saying “The language is a power. Only when we possess it, will we be able to grow in all the fields. Let us all develop the mental power”. Dr. Shantala Vishwasa informed the students of the need for the workshop and its contemporary use. Ms.Anjanasuresh prayed, Ms. Sushmitha hosted the event.

It was explained to the students that the four main steps of a language are: speaking, listening, writing and reading. The students were devided into four groups corresponding to the four skills and were educated through different kinds of activities including games, discussions, insights, stories etc. Sri Madhusoodan Bhat, the Central Government customs officer, briefed the student on use and benefits of the language. Students performed solicitations in Sanskrit.
