The first one day Camp of Canara College NSS unit was held on July 31, 2026 in Kodman village. 104 Volunteers participated in this one day camp. The camp was organised with an objective of exposing the students to physical work and to make them understand the dignity of labour.The volunteers were divided into 8 groups for the purpose of Shramadhan. As a part of shramadhan the volunteers had to level the cremation ground.
In the second session of the camp Villagers were given information regarding medicinal plants by Mr. Dinesh Nayak a well known resource person and a specialist in Botanical field. Nearly 50 villagers benefitted the programme. The after session of the camp included games and competitions. After lunch various competitions like skit completion and pick and speak and pick and act were conducted for NSS Volunteers. The competition was conducted with an objective of giving an opportunity for the volunteers to showcase their hidden talents and also to overcome their stage fear. Their performance was judged and prizes were given accordingly.
