The Add On course on ‘Tulu Lipi and Literature’ was successfully conducted by the Tulu Sangha of our college in collaboration with Karnataka Sahitya Tulu Academy. The chief guest for the function was Sri Kudi Vasanth Shetty and the president of Karnataka Sahitya Tulu academy, Mrs. Janaki Brahmavar was also present. Sir Kudi Vasanth Shetty is a well-known speaker in Tulu Literature. He has contributed to the up-liftment of Tulu Literature and Culture in different ways. He spoke about the ancient Tulu Culture and how people adopted this culture for their well-being in the society. He also spoke about the differences found in the practices of Tulu Community in ancient times and the people of present generation. The Secretary of Tulu Sangha Mr. Ratheesh Karkera welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Babitha Shetty, Convener of Tulu Sangha gave brief introduction of the Tulu Sangha and its objectives. Smt. Janaki Brahmavar, president of Tulu Academy appreciated the Tulu Sangha and the students of Canara College for successful completion of the Add On course on ‘Tulu Lipi and Literature’.Dr. K.V.Malini, Principal of our college, presided over the function. Miss. Mayakshi, Jt. Secretary of Tulu Sangha mastered the programme and Mr. Shubham Bangera, member of Tulu Sangha proposed the vote of thanks. The certificate for the students who completed the Add On course was distributed by the chief guest and the president. The programme was witnessed by around 72 members of Tulu Sangha, Staff members and also the members of Tulu Academy. Three of our students read the Tulu poet written by them. One of the members of Tulu Academy Mrs. Rathnavathi Baikady sung few Tulu traditional songs and entertained the students
