University Level Cultural Fest – Nrityotsava-2015

The Students of 15 colleges have participated in the Inter Collegiate Classical and Folk dance competition. Inaugurating the programme on 28th October, 2015, Dr. A.M. Khan, HOD Electronics Department, Mangalore University said, “The spirit of participation is more important than competition. Students should understand that life goes on whether you are a success or failure. Participation in cultural competition helps students to de-stress themselves in these fast moving times”.

In the Presidential address Sri. Ranganath Bhat, Hon. Secretary of CHS Association, Mangaluru expressed his sentiments towards the culture of motherland and pledged that CHS Association will always try to uphold the culture and tradition of our country.

The chief guest of the Day Vidooshi Vidyashree Radhakrishna, Director, Gana Nritya Academy Regd. spoke on the values of classical and folkdance in the present era.

The Principal Dr. K.V. Malini welcomed and introduced the guests. Vice Principal, proposed vote of thanks. Smt. Tara Kumari, Dept. of Kannad compered the inaugural programme.

In the Valedictory Programme Sri. Basti Purushotham Shenoy, Correspondent, Canara Hr.Pry School expressed his happiness for being organized the programme in the Canara Institution.

Of the participants, Alvas College, Moodabidri won the overall. SDM College, Ujire won first prize in Folk dance competition and Alvas Moodabidri won first prize in Traditional Dance competition. 500 students inclusive of competitors took part in the programme.
