A Talk on “Misleading Advertisement and Its Impact on Consumers”

In order to educate the members of the association about the misleading advertisement and to understand what impact a misleading advertisement has on a consumer, this specific talk was organized by the Women Empowerment Cell in association with the Consumer Forum, Human Resource Development and English Association on July 22, 2015. The resource person for this session was Mrs. Raviprabha Shetty, Assistant Professor in Political Science, Besant Women’s College, Mangalore. She highlighted about various advertisement which most of the cases are fake or have undue influence on a consumer. Further she briefed about protection of consumers in case of misleading advertisement and legal actions to be taken. The session was interactive. She concluded her talk by saying that advertisement should be taken in a positive way and should help one to make right choice of the products. Altogether 40 members of all the association took active participation in this event.
