Canara College Mangaluru organised one-day career guidance workshop for B.Sc and BCA students in collaboration with Employment Bureau, Mangaluru University on 20-07-2015.
The chief guest was Sri Janardan Pai, Director, Canara Pre University College Mangaluru. He emphasized the need of keeping the right attitude in addition to academic growth . Dr. K.V.Malini, Canara college, Mangaluru presided over the function. Prof. Chandrashekar, department of Botany, Mangaluru University guided the students about the various opportunities in botany through power point presentation during the morning session. It was followed by interactive session when students posed different questions seeking clarifications.
The next session was taken by B.K Sarojini, department of Chemistry. She stressed on the importance of Chemistry in daily life and motivated students to take up masters in industrial chemistry as it has wide career opportunities.The afternoon session was handled by Sir T C Jaganath, Deputy Chief, Employment Bureau, Mangaluru University. He delivered lecture on opportunities in various public service, UPSC and banking exams. The next session was taken over by Dr. Shashirekha ,department of Computer Science, Mangaluru University. She gave various instances on application of Computer Science. 150 students benefited from this programme.
