An online session on “Investor Awareness” was organized by the Department of Commerce, Canara College, Mangalore, on February 18, 2026. The resource person was Ms. Marina Jose Kanjikal, Trainer, BSE Ltd., from the Bombay Stock Exchange. She explained the basic concepts of the stock market, including how stocks are traded and how investors can participate in the market. The session covered topics such as the role of stock exchanges, the process of buying and selling shares, and the importance of research before making investment decisions. Participants were also informed about the importance of diversification and long-term investment strategies.

All the queries of the students were answered through an interactive session. The session was well received by the students. A total of 32 students benefited from this programme. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Vinoda V. Nayak, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, under the guidance of Prof. Dejamma, Head, Department of Commerce.
