The Tulu Sangha of Canara College organized a session titled “Wikipedia – Gena Polabuda Parapu” on September 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m in Room No. 7.
The guest speaker was Mrs. Babitha S, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Wikipedia Administrator for the Tulu Language. The session was presided over by Mrs. Vani U. S. and Ms. Maneesha D., conveners of the Tulu Sangha.The program began with a welcome and introduction of the guest by Vaishnu (III BCA ‘A’).
In her address, Mrs. Babitha S. shared her experiences as a Wikipedia administrator and volunteer. She explained how technology can be used effectively to connect and preserve the Tulu language, enabling its reach to a global audience. She also emphasized the opportunities available to students, such as attending academic conferences, participating in collaborative projects, and contributing as digital volunteers.
A total of 29 students actively participated in the interactive session. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Yashwith (III BBA), acknowledging the guest and participants for their contribution to the success of the program.
