A Sanitary Safety Awareness Program was organized by Women Empowerment Cell on May 22, 2025 with the primary objective to educate female students on menstrual hygiene, break social taboos related to menstruation, and promote the use of safe and sustainable sanitary products. The program commenced at 11:30 A.M with a warm welcome to Mrs. Gayathri, Founder and Owner of Shimmer Sanitary Napkins, a reputed brand dedicated to menstrual hygiene and women’s health.
Mrs. Gayathri delivered an informative and interactive session on the importance of menstrual hygiene, common health issues associated with poor sanitation, correct usage and disposal of sanitary napkins and introduction to eco-friendly menstrual products.The Sanitary napkins were distributed to all 55 participants. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Adithi A. Nayak, the Convener of the Cell.
