The Department of Commerce of Canara College organized a guest talk on Entrepreneurship: Turning Passion into Profit for the final year students on March 19, 2025, by Mr. Mahesh Kamath, Proprietor, Mahesh Engineering Corporation, Mangaluru. He briefed the students on the core principles of entrepreneurship, highlighting that business is fundamentally about solving problems and adding value. Mr. Kamath also said that technology is crucial for businesses to stay competitive, reach wider audiences, and streamline operations. Understanding customer needs and preferences is vital for creating products or services that meet their expectations. He also stressed that collecting constructive feedback from customers helps entrepreneurs refine their offerings, improve customer satisfaction, and drive business growth. He spoke about different types of profits, namely Emotional Profit, Social Profit, Time Profit, etc. A total of 73 students benefited from this guest talk. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, Dr. Kalpana Prabhu J, Vice Principal, Dr. Deepti Nayak, Administrator, Canara College, Mangaluru, were present. Ms. Sndhoora B.S., III B.Com ‘B’ welcomed the gathering, and Ms.Ananya Bhat, III B.Com ‘B’ rendered the vote of thanks.
