The Department of Commerce of Canara College has organized a guest talk on ‘AI and the Indian Job Market: Trends, Insights, and Future Directions’ by Dr. V. Rajesh Kumar, Professor of Finance at ICFAI Business School, Bangalore, on August 29, 2025. The resource person shared his views on the ways in which AI is reshaping industries and job roles in India. He also shared information on the need for professionals to be adaptable and continuously learn new skills to remain competitive in the job market.
The event was attended by Mr. Sandip Ghorai, Deputy General Manager (South Region), IBS, ICFAI Business School, Bangalore, and Mr. Abhishek Dwivedi, Branch Manager, IBS, Business School, Bangalore. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, and Mrs. Dejamma A., Head of the Department of Commerce, graced the occasion with their presence. 110 final-year B.Com and BBA students were part of this guest talk. Faculty coordinator Mrs. Usha Nayak assisted in the smooth execution of the guest talk, and the enthusiastic participation of students contributed to its success. . The Workshop reinforced NAAC core values by fostering global competencies among students and the quest for excellence.
