Inauguration of Student Welfare Council and “Aavishkar’ A Talent Expo-2025

The Student Welfare Council and The Fine Arts Association of Canara College organised Inauguration of Student Welfare Council and ‘Aavishkar’ A Talent Expo-2025 on August 18, 2025. Shri Walter Nandalike, Founder and Managing Director of Daiji World Private Ltd., inaugurated the event and delivered a speech. He said that living beautifully is a gift from God. Everyone has their own unique strengths and weaknesses; comparing oneself to others is not right, and blaming or looking down on others is even worse than cancer. Leaders should take responsibility and move forward. In today’s competitive world, no one is perfect; having a determination to do better than others is important. He also said that Canara has produced world class leaders

Shri. CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent of Canara College presided over the event and spoke about the importance of Student Council in college activities. He emphasized that for students, achievement is important alongside academics. Mrs. Usha Nayak, Convenor, Fine Arts Association introduced the guests. Mr. Saurav Salian, President of the Student Welfare Council, welcomed the guests. Dr. Ganesh Shetty, Student Welfare Mentor, administered the oath to the students. The event was attended by Shri. K. Shivananda Shenoy, Manger, Canara College, Shri.Naresh Shenoy, Member of the Governing Council of CHS Association, Dr. Deepthi Nayak, Administrator, Canara College and Prof. Dejamma A., Principal In-charge; Mrs. Keerthi Alva and Mrs. Savitha D. K. Ms. Soundarya, Student Coordinator, Fine Arts Association, proposed the vote of thanks, and Ms. Isiri Aithal, compered the programme. A total of 1,000 students participated in this programme. The inauguration of the Student Welfare Council and ‘Aavishkar’ A Talent Expo-2025 was a grand success, marked by inspiring speeches and enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike.

Following the formal inauguration programme, the students showcased their exceptional talents at the ‘Aavishkar’ A Talent Expo-2025, dazzling the audience with captivating performances in Bharatanatyam, Group Singing and Group Dance. The students passion and creativity shown through in every performance, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. Overall, the talent expo was a resounding success, highlighting the diverse skills and artistic abilities of the students.This programme contributed towards Contributing to National Development, Fostering Global Competencies among the students, Inculcating Value System in students and Quest for Excellence.
