The Tulu Sangha of Canara College, Mangaluru, organized the cultural program “Aatida Nenpu” on August 13, 2025, in the Seminar Hall. The event commenced at 9:45 a.m.,with an invocation by Tulu Sangha students, seeking blessings for the success of the program. This was followed by an introductory speech by Mrs. Vani U.S., Convenor, who warmly welcomed the audience and provided contextual background on the importance of the occasion. The program featured Mr. Prasad Anchan, Assistant, Tulu Peeta, Mangaluru University, as the esteemed resource person. He delivered an insightful session on the topic “Aati: Ani – Eni,” explaining the significance, customs, and heritage associated with the Tulu month of Aati. Mr. Anchan emphasized the importance of preserving age-old traditions and understanding their deeper cultural meaning.This was followed by a melodious Tulu traditional group song presented by the students, which set a culturally rich and vibrant tone for the occasion.Adding a special touch to the program, student members prepared and displayed a variety of Tulu traditional foods typically associated with the month of Aati.
The program was presided over by Prof. Dejamma, Principal In-charge and president of the program. Mrs. Vani U.S. and Ms. Maneesha D. served as convenors, ensuring smooth coordination. Vaishnu from III BCA A compered the event, Yashwith,from III BBA, Student Secretary, welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest, while Moksha from I BCA C, proposed the vote of thanks. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 71 students, who actively engaged in the discussion, gaining valuable insights into their cultural roots.
