A Career Conclave was organized by the Commerce Department for the final-year students of B.Com Program on August 5, 2025 at 1.30 pm in College Seminar Hall. CA. S.S Nayak, MSME & Start Up Mentor, Dr, Rajesh Nayak, Director Colleges of Banking and Financial Studies, Oman and CA. Gokuldas Pai, ACA, CPA World Bank Executives & Founding Chairperson, ICAI Washington were the resource persons of the Conclave.
In the Conclave CA. S.S Nayak stated that there are plethora of career opportunities in India. He said excellence requires hard work and proper planning is required for the execution of any work. Students were motivated to be job creators than job seekers He also shed light on Four D’s of Business- Determination, Dedication, Discipline and Diversification.
Dr. Rajesh Nayak briefed about the different career opportunities in Banking Sector in India. He explained about the key components of Indian Banking Sector and Career Paths in Commercial banks such as Retail banking, Corporate Banking and Private Banking. He also briefed about the major Banking Exams such as IBPS, SBI, RBI, NABARD and Private Bank exams.
CA Gokuldas Pai in his address highlighted about the opportunities for white Collar Jobs. He mentioned along with the qualification there is high demand for skills in the job market. He directed students to upgrade their technological skills to meet the fierce competition in job Market. A total of 124 Students Participated in the program. The Program was coordinated by Mrs Ashalatha and Mrs. Jayashree Shetty, Assistant Professors Dept of Commerce. Mrs Dejamma A. Head Dept of Commerce welcomed and introduced the Resource persons. Mrs. Ashalatha proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Jayashree Shetty Compered the program.
It helped the students to gain insights on career opportunities in different areas.
It gave an opportunity for the students to prepare themselves for their future career and also to face the challenges in the competitive job market successfully.
