The Centre for PG Studies in Commerce organized an Add-On Course on “Human Resource Development and Management” for the Final Year M.Com students. The course was inaugurated on May 22, 2025, in the college seminar hall by Mrs. Dejamma A, Head of the Department of Commerce, who unlocked the syllabus and shared her insights and words of encouragement. Ms. Nidhi of Final M.Com hosted the program. The course provided an in-depth understanding of key HR concepts, covering topics such as Recruitment and Selection, Employee Training and Development, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, and Organizational Behavior. The curriculum was designed to blend theoretical knowledge with practical exposure, enabling students to apply concepts in real-world settings. Interactive sessions included hands-on activities, simulations and guest lectures by Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Management. His sessions included crucial topics such as HR Laws, Ethics and Leadership, as well as Resume Writing and a Mock Interview, enhancing the practical learning experience.
The valedictory ceremony was held on June 30, 2025, at the College Seminar Hall. The Chief Guest, Sri CA Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent of the College, addressed the students on the importance of skill development. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, Canara College, also graced the occasion. The event included distribution of certificates and concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Raksha of M.Com Final. The course was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Swathi Nayak, PG Coordinator, and faculty in-charge Mrs. G. Sneha Pai and Mrs. Shwetha Pai M. A total of 41 students from the Final Year M.Com actively participated in the sessions. The program contributed to the core values such as upholding the contribution to National Development, Eliciting quest for excellence and Fostering Global Competencies among Students.
