The Department of Computer Science and Applications, in collaboration with the IT Association of Canara College, organized an educational visit to the Incubation Centre at NITK Surathkal on May 8, 2025.
The visit was hosted by the Centre for System Design and the SOLVE team, who conducted an engaging and informative session on the Virtual Lab platform. This session provided students with a detailed understanding of how virtual laboratories function and how they support simulation-based learning in modern education. In addition to the Virtual Lab session, students also had the opportunity to explore real-time projects, including EV Motors – Understanding electric vehicle technologies,Drone Functioning – Demonstrations of drone design and operation.3D Printing – Live observation of 3D printing processes and applications. Edge of Things (EoT) Devices – Exposure to smart, edge-computing technologies.
The session was guided by Mrs. Shreshta Sr. Research Fellow NITK, who provided detailed explanations and coordinated the activities throughout the visit. The Students were accompanied by Mrs. Babitha S Head of the Department, and Mrs. Vinutha and Mrs. Rakshitha ,IT Conveners, who played key roles in planning and organizing the visit, ensuring smooth execution and a valuable learning experience for all the students. A total of 39 students actively participated in the visit.
