Mangalore University Inter- collegiate Cricket Tournament

Mangalore University Inter – collegiate Mangalore Zone Cricket Tournament for Men “Dayanand Kamath Memorial Trophy” was inaugurated on April21st, 2025 at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore. The event took place from April 21st to May 2nd, 2025 saw enthusiastic participation from various colleges. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Gerald Santhosh D’Souza, Director of Physical Education, Mangalore University. Mrs. Ashwini Kamath, Governing Council Member, C.H.S. Association, Co-Ordinator, Canara Sports Academy was the Chief Guest. The tournament was presided over by Sri. CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent, Canara College, Mangaluru. And our Principal Dr. Premalatha V.  were present during the inaugural ceremony. The Cricket Tournament commenced with the release of a balloon by all the dignitaries. This gesture marked the beginning of an event filled with excitement and sportsmanship. A total number of 18 teams from various affiliated colleges participated in the tournament, showcasing their cricketing prowess and sportsmanship. Over the course of the tournament matches witnessed enthusiastic participation, team spirit and excellent sportsmanship.

The valedictory ceremony for the Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate Mangalore Zone Cricket Tournament (Men) for Dayanand Kamath Memorial Rolling Trophy 2024- 25 was held on May 2nd , 2025.Mr. Prakash D’Souza, Physical Education Director of Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar and Mr. Sandeep Salian, Observer of the Tournament was the Chief guest for Valedictory ceremony.  Dr. Premalatha V., Principal presided over the function. Mr. Avinash, Physical Education Director were also present. The entire event was well coordinated by the department of physical education and student volunteers ensuring smooth conduct and success of the tournament. Mr. Karthik, Assistant Physical Education Director compered the programme.

Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar was the winners and SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore was the runners of this tournament.

Students got an opportunity to showcase their cricketing skills at the University level and also enhanced leadership skills.This activity strived to achieve core values of contributing to fostering global competency and eliciting quest for excellence amongst the student beneficiaries.
