In the current global business landscape, sustainability is no longer a choice but a necessity. With growing environmental concerns, shifting consumer expectations, and tightening regulations, businesses are being compelled to rethink their operations through the lens of long-term ecological and social responsibility. To address this pertinent topic and sensitize students to the evolving demands of the business world, the Department of Business Administration of the College, organized a seminar on “Sustainability and Green Business Practices”, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 11:30 A.M. in Lecture Hall 15. The session featured Mr. Ganesh Chethan M., Managing Partner of Kshithija Enterprises, Mangaluru, as the esteemed Key Speaker. Mr. Chethan, known for his commitment to sustainable business innovation, brought with him a wealth of practical knowledge and start-up entrepreneurial experience.
Mr. Ganesh Chethan, in his insightful session, emphasized the importance of integrating sustainable practices – such as energy efficiency, effective waste management, renewable resource utilization, and eco-friendly production methods into core business operations. He demonstrated how these practices not only contribute to environmental preservation but also drive profitability, enhance brand value, and build long-term stakeholder trust. Drawing from his real-life experiences at Kshithija Enterprises, he illustrated how businesses can successfully align social responsibility with commercial growth. He also highlighted the rising consumer demand for green products and underlined the competitive advantage that sustainability offers in today’s evolving market landscape.
He further elaborated on the pivotal role that young professionals and future entrepreneurs play in driving the green transition. Emphasizing that sustainability is not just a corporate trend but a long-term business philosophy, Mr. Chethan encouraged students to adopt an innovation-driven mindset rooted in environmental and social responsibility. He discussed emerging career opportunities in sustainability-focused sectors, such as green technology, sustainable supply chain management, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
