The Parent-Teacher Meeting for the 2nd-year BCA Program students was held on February 22, 2025 at the college Seminar Hall. The event was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Babitha S, Head of the BCA Program, Department of Computer Science and Applications. It was coordinated by all the faculty members of the department.
Mrs. Babitha S, Program Head, delivered the inaugural speech, outlining college disciplinary rules, academic expectations, and attendance policies. She stressed the significance of parental involvement in monitoring students’ academic performance.
Dr. Kalpana J Prabhu, Vice Principal, urged parents to actively engage with their children to help them adapt to college life and overcome academic challenges. Mrs. Jayabharathi K.P, MCA Program Head, spoke about the importance of higher education and the career opportunities available to the students.
Following this, Dr. Premalatha V, Principal, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of parent-teacher collaboration in shaping students’ academic and personal growth. She encouraged parents to regularly communicate with faculty to monitor their ward’s progress and ensure a supportive learning environment.
The Parents-Teacher Meeting for II BCA A, B, C, and D batches at Canara College were held in two sessions. The first session was for A and B batches, while the second session was for C and D batches. The first session was for A and B batches, hosted by Mrs. Vinutha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications, while the second session for C and D batches was led by Mrs. Meghashree, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Applications. Both sessions began with an invocation by Mrs. Rakshitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications, followed by a welcome address from Ms. Varshini (A & B) Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Applications and Mr. Shubham Kulal (C & D) Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Applications. A “Parents’ Opinion” segment provided a platform for discussion. The meetings concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Manjula M (A & B) Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Applications and Mr. Jithesh (C & D), Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Applications ensuring productive interaction between parents and faculty.
Parents also interacted with academic mentors regarding their ward’s performance in the Even Semester Degree Examinations 2024-2025.
A total of 167 parents attended the meeting, contributing to a productive discussion aimed at improving student success.
