The Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Computer Applications (M.C.A.) organized a Departmental Orientation for the First-year MCA students on December 16, 2024, at 9:30 A.M. in Computer Science Lab 4.
Mrs. Jayabharathi K.P., Head of the Department, welcomed the students and invited them to introduce themselves individually to their classmates. She then continued the session by explaining the MCA syllabus prescribed by Mangalore University and the examination question paper pattern. Students were encouraged to enroll in and attempt MOOC/SWAYAM courses and examinations.
Mrs. Shailaja Kumari T.G. provided an overview of the MOOC/SWAYAM portal, highlighting its benefits and usage. Following this, students were informed about the rules and regulations to be followed within the college premises and in department. This included guidelines on academic conduct, discipline, and institutional policies.
The department orientation session for first-year MCA students was organized to familiarize them with the academic structure, institutional guidelines and available learning resources. It aimed to provide a smooth transition into their postgraduate studies.

40 students of First year MCA were present during this orientation session which successfully introduced students to the academic environment, equipping them with essential information for a productive learning experience. The interactive nature of the session ensured that students felt welcomed and well-prepared to begin their journey in the MCA program.The program strived to foster global competencies, inculcate a value system and quest for excellence among the students.
