As part of the Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan 2.0, the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council, in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangaluru, organized an outreach programme on March 4 and 6, 2024, at Service Bus Stand, State Bank, Mangaluru.
During the outreach programme, members of the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council and volunteers of Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan undertook the task of cleaning the bus stand and painting compound walls that had been defaced by public urination, creating a foul environment. The wall beside the road leading to the Service Bus Stand, State Bank, Mangaluru, which previously emitted a strong stench, was transformed into a canvas for wall art. The footpath and wall, once an eyesore, were thoroughly cleaned using pump water.
Members of the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council, artists from Aditattva Arts, and volunteers of Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan from Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mission collaborated to beautify the wall, turning it into an open gallery adorned with Warli Art. The entire 3500 sqft wall was first painted white, followed by a second coat of Terracotta (red paint).
The program was carried out under the guidance of Sri Jitakananandaji, President of Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mutt, and supported by Student Welfare Mentors Mrs. Babitha S., Mrs. Smitha M., and Mr. Ranjan Bellarpady, Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan Coordinator, ensuring effective leadership and coordination throughout the initiative
