A session on “Product Reliability – Guarantee and Warranty” was conducted for the students of Consumer Forum Association on January 18, 2022 by Mrs. Dhanyashree, Assistant Professor, Poorna Prajna College, Udupi. The main objective of the session was to understand the conceptual framework of guarantee and warranty. The resource person highlighted the basic differences between guarantee and warranty. She also gave insight into the different types of warranty such as express warranty, implicit warranty and buyer based warranty. In her presentation, she also highlighted some of the leading cases relating to faulty goods and services; and also mentioned about the amount of compensation for the default with respect of product. She also highlighted the various precautions that the consumer should take while buying a product or service. The session was attended by 26 students.
