A Session on Women Empowerment

The center for women and gender studies conducted a session on women empowerment on August 25, 2019. Ms. Mamatha Prajapathi, the guest speaker of the session, had a fruitful interaction with final year students. She said that women empowerment includes the action of raising the status of women through education, awareness, literacy and training. Women empowerment is the process in which women elaborate and recreate what it is that they can do and accomplish in a circumstances that they previously were denied. Empowerment is the process that creates power in individuals over their own lives, society and in their communities. People are empowered when they are able to access the opportunities available to them without limitations and restrictions such as in education, profession and lifestyles. 50 girls of final B Com actively participated in this session.
