Workshop on “Basic Research Frame work”

Research is the bedrock of knowledge in general and higher education in particular. The institutions of higher education in India are facing crucial challenge in creating, nurturing and maintaining the level of quality research. It is essential to develop a sound methodological base of research among the researchers to cope up with challenges in the field of research. A good research methodology is a key to sound research output. To operationalize this vision, there is need to train the students on research methodology. With these objectives a workshop on “Basic Research Frame work”was organized by Centre for Advanced Studies in Commerce & Management on July 26, 2017.

Dr. V. Basil Hans, Head of the Economics Department, St. Aloysius Evening College was the resource person. He explained the need for involving in research during the college days with examples. He deliberated on Steps in the Process of Research- Problem Selection, Formulation and Planning, How to write a Proposal, preparing a questionnaire, analysis and interpretation of data, report writing. 

It was a very interactive session. 40 students took the benefit of the programme. This workshop was attended by the members of Consumer Forum of the college too.

Prof. Seema Prabhu S., Convener of CASCMa welcomed the resource person. Prof. Jayashree delivered vote of thanks. Prof. Swathi compeered the programme.
