Observance of Vigilance Awareness 2019

In consonance with the directions of Central Vigilance Commission through UGC and University, Vigilance Awareness 2019 with its central theme “Integrity : A Way of Life” was observed by the College on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 12:15 PM at the College Seminar Hall.

Mr. Bindu Madhav Shenoy, Recovery Officer, Circle Office, Mangaluru was the Chief Guest. He in his address remarked that “We have to cultivate alertness among the public through participative and pro-active vigilance management, to end the menace of corruption. E-Governance, systemic changes in procedures, reduced public interface, technology-based procurement, automation, etc… will certainly go long way in reducing corruption.”

Mrs. Joy J. Rai, Principal, Canara School (CBSE), was the Guest of Honor. Administering the Pledge of Integrity for Citizens she called upon that– we as individuals have greater roles and responsibilities in eradicating corruption by being vigilant at all the times in all the deeds. She further exemplified it with various anecdotes and said “Integrity and Ethics form the founding pillars of a nation and national development takes place when individuals and organizations are committed to integrity as a core value.”

Dr. K. V. Malini, Principal, administered the Pledge of Integrity for Organizations and delivered the presidential address. In her address she appealed to cultivate a culture of high integrity and strong ethical values which are a pre-requisite for building a New India, an Empowered India. Further, let us all pledge to the central theme of the year and make “Integrity : A Way of Life” a reality.

Ms. Megha Kamat, Faculty, Dept. of PG Commerce and Student Welfare Mentor welcomed the guests and gathering. Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, Faculty, Dept. of Business Administration and IQAC Coordinator, gave more insights on the significance of the day. Ms. Shifali, Student, II M. Com., proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Laxmi Hegde, Faculty, Dept. of Business Administration compered the programme. The occasion concluded with the National Anthem.
