Extension Activity Conducted by II M Com Students on ‘Animal Rights’.

August 3, 2019

The students of II M Com of Canara College conducted an awareness programme on the social issue of “ANIMAL RIGHTS” for the students of Besant P U College at their college auditorium. It was conducted on August 2, 2019 at 3 P.M.

The programme was organised as a part of the Extension Activities by the Centre for PG Studies in Commerce with an objective of creating awareness on the issue of Animal Rights and Welfare among the students.

The students explained about the legal provisions in cases of cruelty against animals with the help of pictures and videos of various recent incidents of animal harassment. They stressed on the importance of compassion towards animals. They impressed upon the audience the fact that every animal wishes and deserves to be treated with love and care.

The programme concluded with an animated video featuring a puppy, whose selfless nature was highlighted, reminding everyone that ‘it takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal’.

The programme was very interactive. The students of the P U College as well as that of M Com were equally benefitted.
