An Awareness Talk on ‘Dengue Prevention and Control’

Good health keeps one fit, fine and healthy. However, these days a dangerous disease called “Dengue” has badly affected the health of the people. As a precautionary measure, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College organized an awareness talk on “Dengue Prevention and Control” for the all the students and staff on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 between 10:45 AM and 11:30 AM at the College Ground. Sri Jayaram Poojary, Retd. District Health Supervisor, Mangaluru, was the Resource Person.

Sri Jayaram Poojary in his talk remarked that Dengue virus infection is increasingly recognized as one of the terrific infectious diseases. He explained the types of Dengue, mode of transmission, its causes, symptoms, diagnosis, medication and treatment, precautionary and self-control measures and so on. He also stressed upon ensuring cleanliness of surrounding, personal cleanliness, being aware of the use of scientific measures to tackle the disease. He also said that one need not fear for dengue, rather having sufficient knowledge and spreading awareness on its ailment can save from tragedy.

The talk seemed to be very educative, informative and useful as it strived to create sensitization and awareness amongst all. The inputs shared would enable to take necessary care and change the mindset as prevention is better than cure. The session strived to achieve the core value of contributing to the national development.

Prof. Dejamma A., Dean, Dept. of Commerce, introduced the Resource Person and also proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal (I/C) and Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, IQAC Coordinator were present during the session.
