Session on “Misleading Advertisement”

A guest talk on ‘Misleading advertisement’ on October 03, 2018 conducted by Consumer Forum Association.
Mr. Abishek Shenoy of II B. Com from Canara Evening College was invited as resource person who elucidated that, advertising at times misleads the public and this may be deliberate or unintentional. Companies are focusing in popularizing their brand than improvising their products that are offered. They mislead buyers by hyperbolizing the products pros and hiding the cons.
Consumer should be aware of these manipulative tricks in order not to be misled into buying something that they do not really require. The session was utilitarian and confidence boosting to the audience. The students later concluded this program by sharing misleading ads which are telecasted in present Indian TV channels.
