The election for the class representatives was conducted in a democratic way in their respective class rooms by their academic advisors on July 4, 2018. The elected representatives were asked to file nominations for the post of President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary for the constitution of the students’ council. The office bearers of the Students’ council were then selected by the selection committee comprising of the Principal, Student Welfare Officers, IQAC coordinators, based on certain criteria.
The inauguration of students’ council and the swearing- in ceremony was held at College premises on July 14, 2018 by Prof. Aruna Kamath.Pricncipal, SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru. Inaugurating the council, madam enlightened the student leaders on the responsibility of a leader in leading the team. Dr. Savithri, Principal Canara Evening College presided over the function and congratulated the newly selected student leaders. Principal Dr. K .V. Malini addressed the students wishing them for a smooth functioning of the academic year. Prof. Sandhya, Student Welfare Officer, administered the oath to the newly selected office bearers. Dr. Bhuvana Ramachandran, Prof. Anasuya Bhagvath were also present. Amith Prabhu, the President of Students’ Council, welcomed the gathering while Harishitha , the Vice President of Students’ Council, delivered the vote of thanks.125 students participated in the programme.
