Department of Computer Science organized an extension activity “Presentation & Exhibition on Computer and Peripherals” on February 24, 2018 for the school children of Dakshina Kannada Higher Primary School Mannagudda and Govt. High School, Mallikatta.
The programme began with a prayer and was inaugurated by Dr. K.V Malini, Principal of our college. Mrs. Babitha Shetty welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Dr. Manohar Joishi Kumble, HOD, Botany, said “Today each and every thing is influenced by the computer, therefore each one of us should have the basic knowledge about the computer.” He also encouraged the students to particpate in the programme actively. Dr. K.V. Malini presided over the programme and appreciated the department for organizing the programme of this kind. In her address, she told the school children to get the maximum benefit from it. Mrs. Jayabharathi K.P., HOD, Computer Science graced the occasion. Mrs. Pushpanjali, Dakshina Kannada Higher Primary School Mannagudda and Mrs. Savitha and Mrs. Dora from Govt. High School, Mallikatta escorted the school children. Ms. Likhitha of IIB.Sc compered the programme & Mrs. Prathima V. Baliga proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Forty students from both the schools benefited from this programme. The formal programme was followed by presentation and exhibition of computer peripherals. The students of final BCA, Mr. Mahesh Bhat, Mr. Akshay Kumar, Mr. Navaneeth Kamath& Mr. Basavaraj gave an insight to Computer and its peripherals. Exhibition on computer peripherals was organized by the members of IT Association.Altogether 40 students took part in the programme.
