A Financial Education Workshop was organized for the Final Year B.Com students at Canara College on December 23, 2017 on the topic “Financial Planning for Young Investors”. It was jointly organized by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Department of Commerce, Canara College. The objective of the workshop was to spread financial education and promote savings and investments among the students.
The resource person B.V.Krishnamurthy, Asst. General Manager (Retired from RBI), empanelled as Resource person by SEBI, contextually explained to maintain a consistency in building up a brighter future by an intelligent approach of savings. He further went into depth of understanding financial decisions that include financial planning, budgeting, time value of money, asset allocation strategy, choosing the right investment options, investor protection and grievances redressal mechanism.
In this session B.V. Krishnamurthy concentrated on all the financial activities that promote general financial well- being by taking financial decisions wisely. Nearly 80 students witnessed this session.
