Faculty Development Programme on “Teaching Techniques”

On December 21 and 22, 2017 Canara College organized 2 days Faculty Development Programme on “Teaching Techniques” in association with ICT Academy to equip the faculty members with required skills and knowledge.

The inauguration programme was held on December 21, 2017.  Mr. Basty Purusthoham Shenoy, Governing Council Member, CHS Association was the inaugurator. Mr. Rangnath Bhat, Hon’ Secretary, CHS association presided over the function. Dr. Malini K.V., Principal welcomed the guest and gathering. Mrs. Seema Prabhu S., Coordinator delivered vote of thanks. Mrs. Dhanya Shet compered the programme.

38 teaching faculty members from various degree colleges of the region participated in the programme. The programme was delivered by Facilitator Mr. Nirmal Kumar from Chennai. The facilitator could ably hold on to the attention, involvement and active participation of the members through effective presentation.

He presented 4 modules which are Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Personality Development and Creative thinking.

These four modules where delivered using various concepts in L&D such as Maslow’s theory, Ice Berg Theory, 4 Mat System, Instructional Innovation, Alternate Teaching Methodology, Learning Styles, NLP in classroom and so on.

The facilitator had a very good hold in these topics. And kept the participants engaged throughout the sessions. Overall the sessions were very useful and the concept learnt can be implemented in the classes.

All the 38 participants appreciated the initiative of Canara College in hosting this unique FDP for young upcoming teachers of the region.
